| This BBC series is very old and I saw it a long time ago. I viewed it again anyway. I had to feel sorry for all the gamblers featured here. Every one of these players has a severe gambling problem. I noticed the former doctor was playing old fashioned slots and think it was due to the show coming before the newer and more addictive so called penny slots. The newer ones would be more of a draw to her than the ones she was playing. As for the mattress guy, he seemed to be willing to bet on any game even slots. He was playing the old Cleopatra slots as well as table games. I hope they all slow down or stop playing. |

Good link--think it's from comps mavin's forum.
I immediately recognized it from one I had seen a long time ago on BBC. I my view it's a very sad six-part series on problem gamblers. The presenter did seem quite smug and the material is definitely dated. What is unchanged is the mindset of the gambling addict. I think all the main characters have a major gambling problem. Hard to say whose case is the saddest, perhaps the sweet old retired doctor. Her home was a disaster with unpacked boxes and I felt sorry for her son who was living with her. The casino staff were all very transparent sycophants. Also, the mattress king's host was very fake and it's hard to imagine that the whale didn't see right through him.
I hope anybody who wonders if they have a gambling problem takes the time to watch all six parts of this series using the six links you provided. I guarantee you'll cool your jets after seeing this! Linda |

I got this link from another forum, the yahoo comps forum. You will see an old BBC tape of high rollers who in my opinion are also problem gamblers. The links are to a six part series that I found interesting still even though I had already seen it some time ago. I really felt sorry for the players even the ones who could afford the big losses. The saddest was the lady who had lost 4 million and went almost every day.
