Here's the link to my podcast with Howard Schwartz at the Gambler's Book Shop:

Lots of fun doing radio with Howard. Doyle Brunson did the show before me--he's one of my favorite poker players and I quote him in many of my Midwest Gaming & Travel features.

I was only in Laughlin for one night. Played at Edgewater--full pay machines right by the elevator and clearly labeled. Always able to get on a machine, even though there are only 8 and there's a sign above them giving the ER's of each game. FPDW, FP Joker Poker, FP 10/7 DB, FP 10/6 DDB. Does it get any better?
Only problem is virtually no points for cash on FP machines, but you will get lots of mailers. I have Janella, an excellent host, and have no problems with room or food comps. Also, you'll get free play in the mail and special offers. The week I was there you earned points for either Wal*Mart or Shell gas gift certificates. I believe it was for either Tues or Wed and I had to leave for Vegas. You can be comped for either Edgewater or Colorado Belle. (Also full pay games at Colorado Belle--near Shooter's Bar.)

Laughlin has lots of full pay games for low-rollers. Pioneer (FPDW by round-up club), River Palms (a few clunker FPDW, coin-droppers in "Winner's Wharf) and Full-Pay All-American near registration desk , plus the Edgewater and CB already mentioned. The Aquarius also has many full-pay quarter machines.

Vegas was rainy so I didn't check out CityCenter--hear it's bad for VP with the best being 9/JOB for dollar level. Also 60-40 server-based machines so make sure you check the pay schedules carefully if you play at MGM's Aria.

I didn't have much time to play as I had relatives from Japan in town and was only there for a few days. May go back next week if I can get through mountains of work. Linda
