If you enjoy playing the slots,
and millions of people do, you'll love gambling expert Victor
Royer's latest book, "Casino Games Made Easy." Although
half of the 317-page soft cover book is devoted to slots, table
game players aren't forgotten as Royer outlines the latest subtle
changes in blackjack and the "real truth" behind Let
It Ride and Progressive Caribbean Stud.
Royer, a longtime columnist,
author of eight books on gambling, and casino gaming consultant,
takes a down-to-earth and sensible approach in detailing his
winning strategies for all casino games. But he outdoes himself
in the chapters on electronic games that include reel and video
slots and video poker. Well aware that the popularity of slots
accounted for 70% of the $500 billion in casino revenues last
year in the United States, Royer includes never-before published
information on the newest in computerized slots. And it's all
detailed in simple language for the casual gambler.
With Royer's book, the days of
slot players wandering around a casino floor trying to find the
hottest slots are over. He tells how to select the machines that
offer the best playing odds, the best pay options, and how to
spot the good machines simply by looking at the payoff display
section. There are simple strategies and hints for the slot player
that, if followed, will give you a better chance to go home a
winner. One hint is to ask a casino change person in the slot
area what machines have been hot. In most cases, he says, they
are eager to share their knowledge with customers.
Royer doesn't lose sight of the
video poker explosion in recent years, devoting 27 pages of his
book to a casino game that has created an entirely new and large
venue of fans. Besides telling the reader how to pick a good
machine and which ones to stay away from, he also leans on his
experience to give the gambler a list of Las Vegas casinos where
the most video poker jackpots are hit. There's another chapter
on video keno, including Royer's tips on "how I make some
very good money" and how to outlast the cycle. Incidentally,
the video keno chapter follows one on lounge keno.
In the table games section, Royer
outlines the different variations of blackjack that have become
popular recently. But he's also quick to warn that players have
to watch out for too many deviations, noting that while the variations
look interesting and profitable, they are not. At the craps table,
players are cautioned to watch for short-term trends that will
affect the outcome of the game. And slot players shouldn't be
scared away from table games, not after reading the intelligible,
up-to-date strategies summarized by Royer.
The book is available at $12.95
in all major bookstores and is distributed worldwide by Ingram
Book Co. in LaVerne, TN.
